The
village is situated in the valley “ des Combes Derniers”, at the bottom of
the hill of “Hautes Joux” with the “Turchet” (1227m) and “Saint Sorlin” (1237m).
By clear weather, it is possible to see Mont Blanc.
In Summer: hiking and mountain biking. In Winter: cross-country skiing and husky.
The parish church, dates from 1845. Old Farmhouses can be seen and in
particular the one named “Le Château”. This was extended during the 19th.Century
in aid of the philosopher Théodore
Jouffroy, the most illustrious native of "Les Pontets”.
Tourists may find accommodation in some cottages. Various activities are organized: marathon du
Truchet, Foulées du Truchet, petanque competition, feux de la Saint Jean.
