Reculfoz lies South West of valley strangely called
" Les Combes Derniers". It’s a small village consisting of a dozen houses. It has always been in symbiosis
with Le Crouzet, Les Pontets et Rondefontaine.
A remarkable cross, erected
in 1741stands in the depths of the village
The inhabitants are proud to
live in the village where ancestors of Pasteur have lived. The first of the
Pasteur lineage is indeed mentioned in 1450 : Nycolas ou Nicoley Pasteur. He
lived in Reculefol ou Reculefoz, which finally was called Reculfoz.
The
principle resources of the village are agriculture and also tourism thanks to a
holiday cottage and two furnished flats (see under Contacts).
It’s possible to discover remarkable sites by
cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking: peat bogs or the Lake which is preserved,
as well as Haut-Doubs typical landscapes
where dry-stones walls particular for this valley can be seen everywhere
omnipresent. |
